Choosing the right system size is the key to getting the most from solar. Too small and you won't cover your bill; too large and you overspend. Here's how a 5kW and a 10kW system compare.
5 kW solar system
- Best for: medium homes with a monthly bill around PKR 40,000–70,000
- Runs: 2–3 air conditioners plus fans, lights, fridge and general load
- Roughly 8 panels; needs about 350–400 sq ft of shade-free roof
10 kW solar system
- Best for: large homes, shops or small offices with bills around PKR 80,000–140,000
- Runs: 4–5 air conditioners plus heavy general load
- Roughly 18 panels; needs about 700–800 sq ft of roof
How to decide
The simplest method is to look at your monthly units (kWh) on your electricity bill, not just the rupee amount. As a rule of thumb, 1 kW of solar generates about 4 units per day in Pakistan. Size your system to cover your daily average, and add a margin if your usage is growing.
Not sure? Our engineers will read your bills and recommend the exact size — often the sweet spot is between 5kW and 10kW. Get a free consultation and we'll size it precisely.
